OPPORTUNITY

The Product Owner serves as the bridge between stakeholders and development teams, owning the product backlog and ensuring the team delivers value in alignment with organizational goals. This individual plays a pivotal role in defining features, prioritizing work, and driving the product lifecycle from concept to delivery. This role is expected to drive measurable product outcomes, not just manage backlog execution. The ideal candidate combines a deep understanding of user needs with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable development requirements.

You will be expected to make prioritization decisions, challenge assumptions, and ensure the team is consistently focused on the highest-impact work. Experience contributing to or shipping AI-powered features (e.g., rapid experimentation cycles, prompt engineering, or working closely with ML/AI workflows) is essential for success in this role.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Backlog Management:
    • Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with the product vision.
    • Write and refine detailed requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and epics to guide the development team effectively.
    • Continuously prioritize and reprioritize the backlog based on changing business needs, stakeholder feedback, and team capacity..
  2. Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Act as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the development team.
    • Gather and synthesize input from business leaders, end users, and other stakeholders to inform product decisions.
    • Communicate product strategy and progress to all relevant parties.
  3. Sprint Planning & Execution:
    • Collaborate with the Scrum Master and development team to plan and execute sprints.
    • Participate in sprint ceremonies, including planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
    • Ensure the team has a clear understanding of goals, priorities, and deliverables for each sprint.
  4. Feature Definition:
    • Translate business objectives into detailed product requirements.
    • Collaborate with design teams to create user-friendly interfaces and experiences.
    • Validate and test features to ensure they meet quality standards and user needs.
  5. Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Analyze product performance metrics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
    • Use data insights to guide prioritization and feature development.
  6. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and dependencies in the product roadmap.
    • Work proactively to address challenges and ensure smooth delivery of features.
  7. Customer Focus:
    • Advocate for the user at every stage of the product lifecycle.
    • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the user experience and deliver customer value.

REQUIRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field..
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in an agile environment.
    • Proven track record of delivering successful products or features, with experience in AI rapid development processes (e.g., fast experimentation cycles, prompt engineering, or shipping AI/ML-powered features).
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (e.g., Jira, Monday.com).
    • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to balance user needs with business goals and technical feasibility.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Familiarity with user experience (UX) principles and product design.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager.
  • Experience in the healthcare and/or financial technologies industries.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with AI rapid development processes, including working with AI/ML platforms, rapid prototyping, and iterative deployment of AI-powered features.
