OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to guide the next stage of our analytics journey. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, ensuring that our data pipelines, models, and processes are reliable, scalable, and impactful. You will shape best practices for a growing team, mentor junior members, and play a central role in delivering high-quality data solutions that drive decision-making and business value.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Data Analysts and Data Engineers, including sprint planning, workload balancing, and code reviews.
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and models that support reporting, analytics, and productized data offerings.
- Establish and enforce standards for code quality, version control, data governance, and documentation.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Manage data refresh schedules, optimize workflows, and ensure performance at scale.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or related field
- Expertise with AWS Redshift, SQL, and dbt
- Experience working with AI-assisted or AI-enhanced development workflows, including the use of modern coding copilots and automation tools to accelerate engineering productivity
- Proven experience leading technical projects or small teams
- Strong skills in data modeling, pipeline design, and performance optimization
- Proficiency with GitHub and collaborative development workflows (e.g., pull requests, CI/CD)
- Ability to translate stakeholder needs into actionable data solutions
- Ability to take ownership of projects and independently drive them from concept to completion, delivering high-quality results on time, in a remote setting.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or additional years of experience
- Experience with scalable data processing such as Spark or Databricks
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, etc.
- Industry experience in healthcare or fintech analytics
- Exposure to modern visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
